Strengthening relationships, new market insights

KARL MAYER gives a positive summary of its participation at Techtextil North America 2025

KARL MAYER had a successful exhibition at Techtextil North America from 6 to 8 May 2025 in Atlanta. The renowned textile machinery manufacturer was located in the German Pavilion, where they presented innovative solutions from the warp knitting and warp preparation sectors using digital presentation.

The KARL MAYER team is delighted with its successes at Techtextil North America 2025

These included a three-bar high-performance warp knitting machine offering maximum flexibility, high speed and a competitive price; the cost-efficient and reliable WEFTTRONIC® II RS high-performance raschel machine with weft insertion for the production of coating substrates; and the PROWARP, an automatic sectional warping machine, which offers up to 30% greater performance in warp preparation and up to 5% higher weaving efficiency due to its innovative layer build-up system. There was a lively exchange on the featured machines, especially at the start of the trade fair.

“There was a strong visitor attendance during the first two days of the fair. This seems to indicate a latent demand for market growth despite the uncertainty among decision-makers caused by the tariffs.”

Mariano Amezcua, President of KARL MAYER North America

Most of the guests came from the USA and were existing customers, as entry to the technical textiles market is difficult. The industry players form a tight and stable group. KARL MAYER used the trade fair to consolidate and expand its relationships with them. Nevertheless, there were also some new contacts. Particularly valuable among these were initial discussions with several brands that source fabrics from international markets or already work with KARL MAYER customers. The dialogue with sports brands, in particular, opened up positive prospects. The business has not yet been affected by the fluid US customs policies, and some Mexican sports companies are focusing on the USA as an export region for their sporting goods.

“Connecting with brands helps us to understand which fabrics are trending in the market, the challenges they face and how we can help them to address them.”

Reid Hix from the Sales team of the KARL MAYER warp knitting business unit

Tariffs were a key topic at the trade fair. They sparked lively discussions in Atlanta about their development and impact on supply chains, consumers and the economy. The talks revealed a key trend: manufacturers are seeking a better position with a US-centric supply chain to take advantage of the new competitive landscape defined by tariffs. KARL MAYER North America is once again supporting its customers in this situation.

„Our strategy focuses on partnering with customers to maintain production equipment and provide technology upgrades that drive improvements in quality, productivity, and profitability.”

Mariano Amezcua, President of KARL MAYER North America
